European programme LIFE+
The european programme LIFE+ is a EU financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects. The Commission yearly publishes a call for new projects proposal, and consequently the list of cofinanced projects. Both public or private subjects and institutions may submit proposals. LIFE+ programme is organized in three different areas:
- nature and biodiversity – projects for protection, conservation, monitoring, restoration of natural habitats and wild species, as well as for reduction or stop of biodiversity loss. LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity presents two sub-areas: LIFE+ nature and LIFE+ biodiversity
- environmental policy and governance – support innovative or demonstrative projects finalized to applying, updating and developing EU environmental policy and legislation
- information and communication – support projects finalized to disseminating informations and raising public awareness about environmental thematics
